Storyboard and Manuscript

A rough storyboard by Kishimoto (left) and an incomplete manuscript by Okubo (right).

Akira Okubo (大久保 (おおくぼ) (あきら) Ōkubo Akira?) is the Japanese comic artist for the Samurai Eight: Hachimaruden comic, and the brother of Atsushi Okubo. He was the seventh assistant hired by Masashi Kishimoto and worked with him on the Naruto series for nine years, beginning around volume 16.

Akira Okubo's role on Samurai Eight: Hachimaruden is to use Kishimoto's rough draft storyboards as a guide to draw the manuscript, and then ink the finalized artwork.[1]
